Meet Abbey

AK Headshot2

Abbey King is your Republican candidate for Geauga County Probate/Juvenile Court Judge who brings over 16 years of experience to the race, including more than 8 years as a Magistrate, over 6 years as a Geauga County Assistant Prosecutor, and early career as a Child Protective Services social worker. A graduate of Akron Law School, she has dedicated her career to serving the families and youth of Geauga County through her work in the justice system and is ready to lead this court on Day One.

Beyond her duties on the bench, Magistrate Abbey King is committed to making legal knowledge accessible to all. Through the Good Deeds Program, she has provided free community education to hundreds of Geauga County residents, helping them understand estate planning fundamentals and navigate probate processes. This program reflects her belief that justice isn’t just about decisions in the courtroom—it’s about empowering families with the knowledge they need to protect their loved ones and avoid unnecessary legal complications. The Good Deeds Program demonstrates Abbey’s dedication to serving the community both on and off the bench.

Every year, you’ll find Magistrate Abbey King at the Geauga County Fair, volunteering her time at the Court and the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) booth. She’s always happy to answer questions, share information about court services, and connect with residents in a relaxed, accessible setting. Her regular presence at the fair reflects her commitment to being available to the community she serves—not just in the courtroom, but wherever people gather. Whether explaining how the court can help families or supporting CASA’s mission to advocate for vulnerable children, Abbey believes in meeting people where they are and making the legal system more approachable for everyone.

When she’s not serving as Magistrate, Abbey King’s most important role is being a wife to her husband Nate and a mother to their two children, ages 12 and 10—a job she considers the best she could ever have. Abbey and her family have proudly called Geauga County home for the past 12 years, and Abbey understands firsthand the challenges and joys of raising a family in our community. Whether it’s attending school events, volunteering at local organizations, or simply being present for her children’s activities, Abbey knows that strong families are the foundation of strong communities. Her experience as a mother gives her unique insight into the cases she handles involving children and families, and her deep roots in Geauga County mean she’s not just serving the community—she’s part of it. Family and community aren’t just talking points for Abbey; they’re the values that guide her life every single day.
